14:1So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
14:2And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:
14:3For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
14:4And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
14:5Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
14:5又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇、和日像.那時國享太平。
14:5又在犹大各城邑除掉邱坛和日像,那时国享太平。
lev:26:30And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
2ch:34:3For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
2ch:34:4And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
2ch:34:7And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.
isa:17:8And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
isa:27:9By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
eze:6:3And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
eze:6:4And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
eze:6:5And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
eze:6:6In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
COBL
14:6And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.
14:7Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
14:8And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.
14:9And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
14:10Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
14:11And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
14:12So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
14:13And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
14:14And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
14:15They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
