Peter-1 : The First Letter of Peter
Chapter 1 2 3 4 5
2:1Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2:2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2:3If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
2:4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
2:5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
2:6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
2:7Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
2:8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
2:9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
2:9惟有你們是被揀選的族類、是有君尊的祭司、是聖潔的國度、是屬 神的子民、要叫你們宣揚那召你們出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。
2:9惟有你们是被拣选的族类,是有君尊的祭司,是圣洁的国度,是属神的子民,要叫你们宣扬那召你们出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。
deu:7:6For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
deu:10:15Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
deu:14:2For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
exo:19:6And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
isa:61:6But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
1pe:2:5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
rev:1:6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
rev:5:10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
deu:7:6For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
jhn:17:19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
exo:19:5Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
deu:26:18And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;
deu:26:19And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.
isa:42:16And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
act:26:18To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
col:1:13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1ts:5:4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
psm:36:9For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
heb:8:3For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
heb:9:26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
rom:12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
mat:20:28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
luk:17:10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
jhn:15:14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
rom:15:8Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
rom:15:16That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
COBL
2:10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
2:11Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
2:12Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
2:13Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
2:14Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
2:15For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
2:16As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
2:17Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
2:18Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
2:19For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
2:20For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
2:21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
2:22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
2:23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
2:24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
2:25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
